How to feature a podcast feed on your site

paid plans

This article covers the Website Builder, which is continuously evolving based on customer feedback. Some details seen here may differ from what you see in-app.

This article covers the Podcast feed block, a block that you can add to any page on your website to display a browsable list of podcast episodes. You can use it to feature your beehiiv-hosted podcast, or an externally hosted podcast via RSS, allowing you to showcase episodes beautifully on your site and give your audience a central hub to listen and explore your work.

Looking to customize the individual episode page listeners land on when they click an episode of your beehiiv-hosted podcast? See How the dynamic Podcast page works in the Website Builder.

How to feature a podcast feed on any page

  1. Open the Website Builder and navigate to the page where you want to add your podcast feed.
  2. Add the Podcast feed block. From the left-hand toolbar, click the + icon to open the elements menu, then scroll down to Content blocks. Select the Podcast Feed element and drag it to your desired spot on the page.

  3. Choose your podcast source. The block will initially display placeholder content. Go to the design panel on the right to connect it to your podcast. You'll be asked to choose between two options. Follow the prompts to connect your preferred feed, with the following options available:

Your beehiiv-hosted podcast: Select this to display episodes from a podcast you host directly on beehiiv.

An external podcast via RSS: Select this to pull episodes from any podcast RSS feed. You can paste an RSS URL directly into the field, or search for a podcast by name. After connecting, click Latest to choose which episodes to feature.

  4. Customize the design. In the design panel, adjust Layout, Podcast feed card, Thumbnail, Title, and Date options to match your brand. You can enable horizontal scrolling, change thumbnail styles, and modify text and background colors.
  5. If you have a YouTube channel for your podcast, you can add a link on your episode page. Choose between adding a Channel or Playlist link, and add the ID to autopopulate the link on your page.

  6. When you’re done making your updates, be sure to Publish your site to see your changes go live.

Individual rss podcast pages

Each episode in your podcast feed links to its own page on your site.

  • beehiiv-hosted podcasts: Episode pages use the dynamic Podcast page template, which you can fully customize in the Website Builder. See How the dynamic Podcast page works in the Website Builder.
  • Externally hosted podcasts: Episode pages are generated automatically and inherit your website's global theme settings. They include a native audio player, the episode title, cover art, description, transcript and timestamps (if available), a "Listen on" section linking to major platforms, and a Recent Episodes section. These pages are not independently customizable in the Website Builder at this time.

Each external podcast episode page includes:

  • A native audio player to listen directly on your site.
  • The episode title, cover art, and description.
  • A full transcript and timestamps (if available).
  • A ‘Listen on’ section linking to major platforms like Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
  • A Recent Episodes section with links to previous episodes.

Your audience can either play episodes right on your site or open them in their preferred podcast app.

Frequently asked questions about featuring podcast feeds on your beehiiv website

Will new episodes update automatically?

Yes. Once your podcast feed is connected, new episodes appear automatically as you publish them — no manual updates needed.

Can I add the podcast feed to any page, or does it need its own dedicated page?

You can add the Podcast feed block to any page on your site, including your homepage. Your website also includes a dynamic Podcast page for any beehiiv-hosted podcast.

What's the difference between the Podcast feed block and the Podcast page?

The Podcast feed block displays a browsable list of episodes and can be placed on any page of your site. The Podcast page is the individual episode page a listener lands on after clicking an episode and it contains the audio player, show notes, transcript, and more. See How the dynamic Podcast page works in the Website Builder for more details.

Can I customize the look of my podcast feed?

Yes. The design panel lets you control:

  • Layout: Number of items, columns, gaps, padding, horizontal scroll on/off, scroll style, and background color.
  • Cards: Padding, gaps, text spacing, border style, corner radius, and card background color.
  • Thumbnails: Image radius, aspect ratio, fit, and show/hide play button.
  • Text: Fonts, sizes, weights, colors, alignment, title line count, and show/hide date.
Do I need to configure RSS settings in my account to use an external podcast feed?

No. The RSS settings in your beehiiv publication are for your newsletter feed and are completely separate from any external podcast RSS URLs you connect in the Website Builder.
