Where to find things in the new side panel menu

The beehiiv app navigation in the left side panel has been updated to better reflect how you create and manage content, including the addition of Podcasts.

Features are now grouped by function (Publish, Audience, Monetize, Grow), making it easier to find what you need. You’ll also see a + New button in the left panel that lets you quickly create content from anywhere.

In this article, you’ll learn how the new navigation menu is organized, where to find features that have moved, and review FAQs about these changes.

The + New button

The previous Start writing button has been replaced by + New in the left panel. Simply click on + New to start writing a newsletter post as before.

Or use the dropdown to quickly create:

  • Blank draft post: Start a new post with limited styling applied.
  • Template post: Choose a pre-styled template.
  • Podcast episode: Add a new episode to one of your shows.
  • Automation journey: Build or start a new automation.

How the side panel is now organized

The left panel is now grouped into four sections:

  • Publish: Newsletter, Website, Podcasts
  • Audience: Subscribers, Automations
  • Monetize: Ad Network, Boosts, Products, Subscriptions
  • Grow: Boosts, Recommendations, Referral program

Section headers are not clickable, select an item beneath each section to open the feature or reveal a sub-menu.

Where did the Analyze section go?

The Analyze section has been removed. The Posts and Clicks reports previously found under Analyze now live under Newsletter, and the Subscribers report now lives under Subscribers.

Why can't I click on Publish, Audience, Monetize, or Grow?

These are section headers used to organize navigation and are not meant to be clickable. To access a feature, click one of the items listed beneath the header to open the feature.

Where did Design go?

Design has been renamed Website and moved under the Publish section. Everything that was previously under Design is still there, just in a new location with a more accurate name.

Where did Paid subscriptions go?

Paid subscriptions has been renamed Subscriptions and is still under Monetize; same place, new name.

Why does Boosts appear in two places?

That's intentional. Boosts appears under both Monetize and Grow because it works both ways, you can earn from outgoing boosts and grow your list with incoming ones.
